Dear Fellow Ministers and Church Leaders,

Re: General Superintendent’s Thoughts # 1

Blessed New Year to you, your loved ones, and your congregation.

The phrase NEW always bring a sense of heightened expectation, renew hope, an infusion of energy and fresh vision. I pray that these will all be true for all our credential members and churches.

While 2023 has been challenging, God has blessed our Fellowship in so many ways. Majority of our pastors and leaders are leading their churches faithfully and believing God for the breakthrough He promised them. They faithfully, “…planted…water…” while knowing God is the one who gives the, “…increase…” (1 Cor 3:6). Pastors, thank you for showing us what it meant to be faithful.  We are seeing a resurgent of spiritual passion and the call of God among the youth in all the 4 languages. The MM33 vision for church planting is gripping the heart of the Fellowship, with a renewed vision to plant churches. The building project of Bible College of Malaysia has started with an air of expectancy to provide effective training for the ministry. 

Space do not allow me to list down many other ways the Lord has bless the Assemblies of God of Malaysia. Praise the Lord for His blessings, protection, divine favor, wisdom, and strength.

Our Theme for 2024, “SHAPE THE FUTURE! ‘Let us rise up and build.’ Then they set their hands to this good work” (Neh 2:18) is both powerful and prophetic. 

Like Nehemiah, we are not to shape the church after our own image, empowered by our own culture and build our own kingdom. God has already given the template, the design, the purpose, the culture, and spirit with which His Church must be built. Nehemiah did not embark to build a NEW wall but to, “repair…” (Neh 1:1-3 that which was broken down. The FUTURE is God’s ancient plan from the past. We need to “look back into the future.” 

No one can SHAPE THE FUTURE! on their own. I pray that God will give you the anointing, wisdom, plans and resources to inspire, galvanize, unite, and lead your people to SHAPE THE FUTURE! of your Church, ministry, and our Fellowship. You cannot do it alone, the Exco cannot do it alone. We must do it together. I look forward to share and work together with you in the coming days on how we can, SHAPE THE FUTURE! together.

Our first Post Pandemic MINISTERS RETREAT is will held on the, 26^th – 29^th February in Malacca. We look forward to having all of you at the Retreat. 2024 is our day. We are saved, called, and anointed for such a time as this. Amid so much of negative news and pessimistic political, social, and financial forecast, God has given us a special message to the world – the GOOD NEWS of our Savior Jesus Christ. No one can share it better than you.

May God give you a fresh revelation of Jesus Christ in your heart and leadership, may His grace be evident in every area of your life, may He bless you and your loved ones with good health and may the Holy Spirit lead and empower you to, SHAPE THE FUTURE!
